Privacy Policy
What this policy covers
LAVERTY is a professional tool for legal practitioners. This policy explains what information LAVERTY collects, where it is sent, how long it is kept, and how you can erase it. It applies to the LAVERTY app, on phones and on the web, to its server, and to the lavertyai.com website.
Who we are
LAVERTY is made and run by Infinity AI Technology Labs, Inc., a corporation incorporated in Delaware, United States.
For privacy questions and requests: m.maamoun@infinityailabs.tech.
Postal address: 2093 Philadelphia Pike #3774, Claymont, DE 19703-2424, United States.
Information we collect
Your email address. Used to sign you in, by sending a one-time code, and to reply when you contact support. There is no password to store.
Sign-in sessions. When you sign in, the server records the session with your device's IP address and its browser or app description (user agent), to keep you signed in and to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
The case material you enter. Case titles, descriptions, notes, timeline entries, chat messages, instructions and questions, and any memoranda, contracts or documents you submit for review or translation.
Documents you upload. The text extracted from each file you attach to a case, with the file's name, type and size. The original file itself is not kept.
Practice notes and writing samples. Practice notes you save from a discussion, and documents you upload to teach LAVERTY your writing style.
Your agreement to the use of AI services. The date you agreed, and the version of the wording you agreed to.
Support messages. What you write to support from inside the app, with your email address, your device's operating system and the app version.
Basic technical records. Server logs of requests (the time, the function requested and the result), error records, and a daily total of your account's AI usage costs. These are used to keep the service running and to apply daily usage limits. They are written so as to leave out case text, and they are not used to build a profile of you.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
We do not use advertising, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
We do not share your case material with other users. Every case is scoped to the account that created it.
We do not use your documents to train AI models, and we do not send them to any AI service other than those named in this policy.
LAVERTY's operator dashboard does not show your case material: it shows counts, statuses and error records with personal details removed. The one exception is a support message you send, which we read in order to answer you.
AI processing
Some LAVERTY features use outside AI services. Before any of your material is sent to them, the app shows you what is sent, to whom and why, and asks for your agreement. Until you agree, nothing is sent: uploads and AI features stay off, and you can still read your cases and type in case text.
OpenAI and Anthropic. LAVERTY sends them the text of your case papers and uploaded documents, your instructions and questions, your practice notes, and the memoranda, contracts and documents you submit for review or translation, so that they can analyse your cases, draft and review documents, translate, and answer your questions. A document in a language other than the case's is translated as soon as it is added. Which of the two companies handles a request depends on how LAVERTY's server is set up, and one may take over a request when the other is unavailable.
Scans and photos you upload, including PDF files that contain only images, go to Anthropic, to read the text in them.
Perplexity (web search). LAVERTY sends it only a research question you type in Research mode, to search the web for an answer, and the number and year of a cited law that is not in LAVERTY's law library, to check whether that law exists. Your case papers and documents are never sent to it. A research question is sent as you type it, so do not type client names or case details into it.
LAVERTY's own law library and citation check run on LAVERTY's own server. For a cited law that is not in the library, only its number and year are sent, to Perplexity, as described above.
LAVERTY uses these companies' business services (their APIs). Under the terms they publish for those services, OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity do not use what is sent through them to train their models by default, and LAVERTY has not opted in to any such use. Each company keeps what it receives for the period its own terms set.
Please treat this as you would any cloud service handling client material, and follow your own professional confidentiality obligations when deciding what to upload.
All AI output is informational only. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and signed off by a licensed advocate before being relied upon or filed.
You can withdraw your agreement at any time in Settings → AI services. From then on nothing new is sent from your account; work already running may finish, and your cases and documents are not deleted.
Where your information is stored
Your account and case material are stored in LAVERTY's database, which runs with LAVERTY's server on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). The database is encrypted at rest, sits in a private network with no route to the internet, and accepts only encrypted connections from LAVERTY's server. Its daily backups and the server's logs are kept in the same region, also encrypted.
Connections between your device and LAVERTY's server are encrypted (HTTPS, TLS 1.2 or later).
Access requires a valid signed-in session, and each case can be reached only from the account that created it.
Uploaded files are checked before they are accepted: programs, scripts, and files whose content does not match their type are refused. This is a check of each file's type and structure, not a full antivirus scan.
The lavertyai.com website and the web version of the app are served by Cloudflare Pages, which handles the request for each page, including your IP address.
Your information is therefore processed outside the UAE: by AWS in Germany, and by the other services named in this policy, which are run by companies based in the United States.
Sign-in emails
Sign-in codes are emailed by Amazon SES, in the same AWS region (Frankfurt), or, when SES cannot send one, by Postmark, a backup email service. Each receives only your email address and the code. The email holds nothing from your cases, no links and no images, and is sent without open or click tracking.
Cookies and storage on your device
On the web, LAVERTY's server sets a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. It is marked Secure and HttpOnly, and is sent only to LAVERTY's server. Your language choice is saved in your browser's local storage.
On a phone, the sign-in token is kept in the phone's secure storage (the iPhone Keychain, or Android's encrypted storage), and your language choice is saved on the phone.
The lavertyai.com website sets no cookies and runs no scripts.
LAVERTY's website and app contain no advertising or analytics code, and set no advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
Your case material is kept until you delete it or delete your account. There is no fixed expiry — the app is a working case file, so nothing is removed behind your back.
Server logs are kept for 30 days. Error records on LAVERTY's operator dashboard are cleared on a rolling basis, normally after 30 days.
The database's automatic daily backups are kept for 14 days, then deleted.
Deleting your data
You can delete any case, document, memorandum review, contract review, translation, practice note or writing sample, clear a case's discussion, or remove a step you added to a case's timeline, from inside the app at any time.
Deleting a case deletes everything in it. Deleting a single document removes the document and its text; reports, memoranda and answers already produced from it stay with the case until the case is deleted. Practice notes and writing samples are kept apart from cases and are deleted separately.
You can also delete your entire account: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently erases your account and everything scoped to it — every case, document, report, memorandum, discussion, review, translation, practice note, writing sample and support message, and your AI services agreement — in a single operation. It cannot be undone.
Deleting your account also signs you out of every device by invalidating all sessions.
Afterwards, error records keep no link to your account, and copies in the database's daily backups are deleted within 14 days. Material already sent to the AI services is kept by them under their own terms, as described above.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. The in-app deletion above erases it at once, apart from the backup copies described above; for anything else, contact us.
You can withdraw your agreement to the use of AI services at any time, as described above.
We aim to handle personal data in line with applicable law, including the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
Children
LAVERTY is intended for legal professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will appear here with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the change.
If a change affects what LAVERTY sends to outside AI services, the app asks for your agreement again before it sends anything more.
